The contamination of rivers and lakes can cause long term damage to humans, fauna and flora. This tends to accur in places where it is difficult to treat or purify the polluted water.

Mapal's innovative method of installation uses mobile floating units that are leveled from the water surface instead of being fixed to the concrete floor of the reactor. Mapal's technology enables the possibilty for upgrading treatment plants of every scale of operation and prevents the need to build new plants and expensive concrete floors. This method prevents the flow of untreated water from reaching and contaminating near by bodies of water. An improvment when compared to the conventional method of draining the reactor when repairments or upgrading is required, which can cause environmental pollution.

E.D.O.S. Mapal has developed the Emergency Deployment Oxydation System, a container consisting of dismantled aeration units for quick installation in contaminated rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. The system includes special units developed by Mapal that are able to float in various water depths and inject air (and oxygen) into the water. This accelerates the biological process of bacteria that feed on the pollutated area and  allows the rehabilitation of  ecological habitats in the water. EDOS can be employed not only in ecological emergencies, but also in cities that have rivers crossing through them. In many cases pollutants are spilled into the river from t surrounding manufacturies and sewage pipes. Installing EDOS is a quick and simple way  to turn the river into an independant waste water treatment area.

Fish Farming. Our aeration units where tested in the Institute for fish farming and were confirmed to be more energy efficient with a higher oxygen rate when compared to traditional peddle wheel aerators. Our units are suitable for ocean fish cages in cases where peddle wheels are not an option.

Agricultural Irrigation reservoirs treat waste water that sits in the basin and is not mixed or aerated. This creates an anaerobic condition with H2S and high nitrates. Mapal has installed  units close to the pumping outlets wich produces quick oxidation of the water and reduces up to a third in chlorine usage, thus saving money and chloride transportation problems.
